Artist Barbara Lee grew up in Northern Ontario before moving to Victoria BC over thirty years ago. She studied fine art at the Victoria College of Art and has taken several workshops and on-line courses in oil painting. She spent 4 months studying portraiture and still life at Heatherleys School of Fine Art in London UK.

She finds inspiration for landscapes from walks in her neighbourhood, from family and friends for her portraiture, and treasured and everyday objects that surround her in her home for her still life paintings. She paints or draws nearly everyday. Barbara is a "painterly" painter, combining lively brushwork with an ever deepening appreciation of compositional and tonal relationships.

Barbara's paintings have been exhibited in the Sooke Fine Arts Show, the Sidney Fine Art Show, Metchosin ArtPod Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Paint-In. Barbara has completed numerous commissioned portraits, including the honour of painting Grace Van den Brink during her term as the first female President of the Union Club of British Columbia.
